Classic BMW's history with BMW goes back....way back.

Back in 1971, Mr. Lee Maas, an automotive enthusiast and manager of Rodger Meier Cadillac and Friendly Chevrolet, noticed that there were no dealerships in Dallas selling BMW's. At the time, BMW's were relatively unknown to the U.S. market. After several meetings with the manufacturer, Mr. Maas decided to go out on a limb and start a dealership that sold the relatively unknown small German sedans with four cylinder engines. He named his dealership Classic BMW and the rest, as they say is history.

Fast forward 47 years, and the 3,000 square foot dealership is now the largest BMW dealership in the United States. While the showroom and the vehicles have certainly changed, the ingredients that made Classic BMW a success when it was founded are still alive and well today, with each customer and employee being treated as a member of the Maas family when they walk into the showroom or drive into the service center.

Job Purpose

Greets, welcomes, and directs customers to the appropriate person/department.

Notifies appropriate company personnel of customers' arrival.

Provides administrative support.


Primary Responsibilities

Greet customers in a friendly and courteous way and escort them to their desired destinations.

Answer customer questions effectively.

Determine if customers coming into the showroom have an appointment. Record customer's information for the Client advisor.

Maintain supply and support systems as requested, including literature, display materials, pricing references, and other materials.

Maintain safe, neat, and clean work areas, ensuring that the physical environment is pleasing to the customers and employees.

Build and maintain comprehensive knowledge of BMW products, services, and processes through on-the-job-training.

Perform administrative functions accurately and on time.

New Car Department


Position Title: BMW New Car Porter 

Reports To: General Sales Manager 

Department Name: New Car Sales 


Job Purpose: 

Maintains the overall appearance of new vehicles and the dealership showroom floor display.

Drives vehicles to different areas of the dealership as directed by management and in accordance with dealership display standards.

Cleans driveway, sidewalks and other areas as directed by management.

Keeps new vehicle lots neat and organized.

Must be alert of traffic flow to sales lots.

Must follow all company safety policies and procedures and immediately report any and all accidents to a manager.

Other duties may be assigned as necessary by management.

Demonstrates behaviors consistent with the Company’s Values in all interactions with customers, co-workers and vendors.

Provide expert knowledge to clients before, during and after the sale of a vehicle. Promote dealer and provide highest customer service to all clients.

Primary Responsibilities: Schedule Encore appointments and maintain 60% dealership take rate. Provide support to Client Advisors with walk-around, test drives, and deliveries. Provide service clients with answers to product and function related questions. 

Additional Responsibilities: Provide support to Portfolio Manager and Pre-Owned department with Lease Pre-Inspections and Lease turn-ins. 

Position Requirements: None

Skills/Experience: Great Communication and interpersonal skills. Must be tech savvy and a quick learner. 

Genius will also provide support to the Sales Team with a vehicle walk-around, test drives and deliveries. On the service side, the Genius will answer client questions during a service drop off, pick-ups or by appointment. Genius at the time will attend events and serve as the first point of contact and helping promote the brand and dealer. The Classics BMW Genius is a key part of properly providing a great BMW Dealer Experience to our clients.

The Classic BMW Genius is more than support staff to the sales team. The Genius is firstly responsible for the Encore Program. Currently one of the most successful for an F-size dealer. Genius needs to be highly motivated, technology savvy, and a quick learner. Always learning all of the new technologies and models from BMW. Service Department:   SERVICE TECHNICIAN

 

Job Purpose:

Diagnose, repair and maintain BMW vehicles in accordance with BMW factory and BMW Center standards.

Promote and attain BMW standards for superior workmanship.


Hiring Specifications:

Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.

Technically knowledgeable, experienced, or trainable on BMW product line

Working Relationship:

Report to the service group leader or foreman

Work cooperatively with all departments and personnel


Technical Responsibilities:

Perform work as described on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with BMW factory and BMW Center standards.

Diagnose the cause of vehicle malfunctions, and recommend/perform appropriate repairs.

Examine vehicle to identify necessary repair or maintenance items that may not be included on the repair order, and communicate to Service Advisor.

Communicate with the Parts Department to obtain needed parts.

Notify Service Advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined on repair order is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed by the time promised.

Clearly and accurately document all work performed.

Road test vehicles as required.

Attend and successfully complete factory training as required by factory or BMW Center.

Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins.

Follow warranty material disposition procedures.

Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes.


Logistical Responsibilities:

Maintain the order and cleanliness of work areas; be able to account for all BMW Center owned tools at all times.

Meet all requirements of state and federal law dealing with automobile repair and consumer protection.
