Q3. Do I have to wait for my recall letter in order to have my recall performed? Yes. BMW is in the process of implementing the recall campaign to ensure that the necessary parts are at the authorized BMW centers prior to sending out the owner notification letters.

Q6. What is the specific problem? The issue involves the power-assisted braking system of the affected vehicles. In rare instances, a small leak could develop in the system.
Q7. What can happen? Over time, power-assisted braking could be affected. In an extreme case, loss of power-assisted braking could occur. However, mechanical braking would still be available to slow and stop the vehicle. In addition, the vehicle still satisfies the applicable Federal Safety Standards pertaining to conditions in which there is a loss of power-assisted braking.
