I expect to be up at Classic today to begin the process of parting ways with my Projekt 1 135i. Don't feel bad for me; I'm very happy with my silver X5, which will now return to the role of Top Dog in our garage.
In all the ways that really count, the "1" was purchased for the sole purpose of making the coast-to-coast run last year. And, given our success with this, it did indeed turn out to be the perfect car for the job. So...this is very much a "mission accomplished" moment.
On the other hand, despite the fact that the car is so much fun to drive, it has become the odd-man-out in our household, since virtually all my everyday driving these days is up to ranches in North Texas to work our horses. By any reckoning, it seems unfair - not to mention impractical - to put a mint-condition 135i on gravel ranch roads, especially when there's an X5 in the garage ideally suited to the task.
Nonetheless, everyone at Classic is deserving of many thanks for putting such a wonderful car into my hands in the first place. My gratitude extends to you, in particular, for allowing me to share some of my more enthusiastic "1" moments with you. I like to think my meeting with Wade Aguillard will be a first step in bringing some of these same fun moments to the Projekt 1's next owner.
That said, I would be remiss not to mention how very much I've enjoyed and appreciated my treatment by Classic over the past three years. From the ownership and management to the sales staff, to the great people in the service and parts departments, and to the terrific valets helping at the service entrance... you've all made ownership of the car a tremendous joy - which, when you think about it, is what this is all about anyway.
Collectively and individually, you are all a credit to the BMW marque.

I have purchased several BMW's from Classic in the past, but this was by-far the best experience yet! From placing the order on 12/18, having the car built on 1/7, to getting my first choice for PCD on 1/28, the process could not have been smoother! Easily one of the most pleasant and enjoyable new car buying experiences I have ever had.
As far as the PCD Experience in Spartanburg--First Class all the way!! I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who is ordering a new BMW. The instructors and staff at the Performance Center are top-notch. From being picked up in a new BMW at the airport, to the complimentary hotel, dinner and breakfast, to the driving instruction at the test track, museum visit, factory tour, and then a 2 hour personal overview of your new vehicle inside the Performance Center, this is an 'Experience" that my wife and I will never forget. Thanks again to you, BMW, and the staff in Spartanburg.
Finally, I also cannot say enough positive things about our new vehicle. We had to drive home last Tuesday from Memphis to Frisco during the huge snow and ice storm.....needless to say the xDrive was awesome and we had no problems driving on basically a solid sheet of ice the last 75 miles home. What a way to break in a new car!

Please convey my great gratitude to the BMW Assist operator who came on the line within 15 seconds (I’m estimating) of the wreck around 2:45 p.m. CST on Jan. 9, 2011, in Cherokee County, Texas. I heard the operator’s voice before I even realized I could not find my cell phone. After telling me she was sending emergency help for me and my 71-year-old mother/passenger, the operator repeatedly attempted to reach my husband at home but couldn’t get through. She then called me on my cell phone, so I was able to find it in the car. I then called a neighbor to walk to my house and tell my husband there had been a wreck and BMW was trying to reach him. (We later learned one of the landline handsets was off the hook and one of our four children was playing games on his cell phone. This is apparently normal mayhem when Mommy is not home!) Finally, the operator reached my husband and he called me himself.
I don’t know how long all that took - but the whole time, the operator kindly kept reassuring me that the ambulance was coming. I believe she even said she called emergency services back to make sure they were stopping at my wreck, not a different one, since several people had slid off the road around the same place and time due to the icy, wet conditions. When a sheriff finally arrived, the operator asked if she could hang up before doing so. Even though bystanders had stopped to help, I was so thankful to have a lifeline to the world in the voice of that operator.
I hope to God I never have another wreck, but if I do, I hope it is in a BMW. And you can bet I will be enrolled in BMW Assist.
We are very happy with the loyalty from BMW all around, including the customer care that all of you (John Eibert in Pre-owned Sales, Eddie Sanchez in Pre-owned Finance, John Meade who worked his hardest to get the deal done, Rene DeLeon who has offered great advice and direction, Robert Manning in Service, and Thai in Parts). From the moment I walked in thinking of the doubtfulness of my desire to own another BMW becoming a reality, to the professional proposal and positively reinforcing attitude from all that made this the best car buying experience that we have ever had! Not only did we buy my 2009 328i but also a 2007 Certified X5 just one week later. To make a long story short, I think that we have no option but to be loyal to Classic BMW.
